Hi blog 🙂

It’s time to kick-start the CARSA journey. A little bit of background information, I have a CARSA membership which I admittedly don’t use enough, so one of my goals for myself is to workout more often. Just as a quick price calculation, I have the Vikes Fit Plus membership which gives me access to CARSA and all group fitness classes for the semester. This runs me $128 for the term, which is $32/month from January-April. Honestly, it’s not the most pretty price to spend, but I think with the addition of fitness classes, it’s worth it. I’m relatively new to the idea of working out, so I’m getting used to following some kind of regimented gym plan.

Moving on, for my first piece of CARSA equipment, I want to use the stair-climber. I try and avoid the stair-climber and I stick to the treadmill, elliptical, and bike. There’s really no rhyme or reason about why I actively avoid using it, I usually just stick to what I know. But, now it’s time… Dun dun duuunnnn….

In terms of expectations of using the stairs, I’m expecting it to not be as ambient as using the treadmill or stationary bike because I’ll be moving vertically and have to be more aware of foot placement. The stairs require a full-body movement, leading with one foot and moving your opposite hand and firmly planting your foot on each step in a relatively fluid movement. I have a feeling an essential playlist will be key to help myself be in that mindset of seeing the stairs as a fun and fresh challenge that uses the entire body, but in a different way! I might present my experience in a TikTok or Vlog style format. We’ll see how it goes. For now, please find a curated playlist below by Spotify of some gym music I’ve put together! I’m happy to take requests anytime 🙂
